What’s better than Joy Division? How about mashing them up with Teletubbies drained of all color?
This mash up was inspired by the above photo of the TeleTubbies (which everyone will remember was the brightest candiest colored TV show of the 90s), drained into a creepy black and white horror concept. Now let us commence with the shoe gaze.
After the death of Curtis, the remaining members of Joy Division found themselves a girl to play keyboard and went on to reform themselves as New Order. Taking the post-punk aesthetic of Joy Division and mixing it with nascent electronic music, they were one of the most influential bands of the early 80s, bringing the New Wave sound to the fore.
Here is their hit (and apparently the biggest selling 12 inch album of all time), Blue Monday.
For those who were never into Joy Division that much, this will probably be the song you recognize. Released after Ian Curtis‘ suicide, this was their biggest hit.
This week’s T4T theme was inspired by Disney. Yes, Disney. Also, my 16 year old no-one-will-ever-understand-my-pain angsty self, circa 1995.
