Now that all three movies have been released upon the world, we can see Jackson’s full vision. Some of the reviews have even said seeing this final one makes some of the earlier plot diversions that were so irritating make a lot more sense and everything ends up tying together.
But what if those diversions were cut and The Hobbit was one movie, like originally intended, before Jackson took over the production? LA based editor Joel Walden took footage, and had woven together the epic trailer for the film that never was.
It took over 200,000 bricks, but we have a recreation of Rivendell from both LOTR and the first of The Hobbit Installments.

Is a three part The Hobbit not long enough for you? Is any movie released in the theater EVER long enough for Peter Jackson? Of course not! That’s why The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey the Extendedededed Edition exists. (Prepare yourself now, there will be an Extendedededed Edition for every one of these damn films, just like there was for LOTR.)
Of course, when I found out that the extra footage was Rivendell, I stop complaining and was sold.

Did you expect anything less from the man who made Extended(edededed) editions de-rigeur along with every last goddamn detail they could possibly cram about the making of the movie into the DVD box set?
Of COURSE each of these already over extended Hobbits have more bloat to add! Personally, I can’t wait! (No really. I love the extended editions of LOTR so much, I forget that much of it wasn’t in the theatrical release I saw in theaters. But nevermind.)

The worst part is, as much as I loved The Hobbit–I have to admit it’s 100% right.
(I’m still going to see the next two anyway.)
Not to be outdone by Les Mis and their five clips, the Hobbit has decided to go full overload and release six new clips.
Seriously, slow down guys. You’re going to show us the whole movie if you’re not careful.
(Also, am I the only one who thinks that Hobbit and Les Mis are semi-fighting for the same audience? Just me? Ok.)
