We’re just about six weeks away from the MCU’s next installment in the franchise, Captain America: Civil War, which honestly could also be called Avengers 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear. This is the traditional kick off for the promotional push, so don’t be surprised if by next week, we’re saturated with material pushing the movie’s arrival.
But though Disney and the MCU probably couldn’t have foreseen just how popular the serial movie franchise with its stand alone installments would be, one fan put forward the notion that the push for Civil War has been sewn since the very beginning. Going all the way back to 2008’s The Hulk and weaving in every aspect of the MCU, including the television shows on ABC and Netflix, this supercut makes the case that this was always the next step in the franchise’s game.
It’s a compelling case. If only we could be sure the movie was weaving in these same themes from around their own universe.
