100 Years of Fashion: Nails

Mode continues to do their own spin off version of the “100 Years of Beauty” series, with another installment in “100 Years of Fashion.”

While CutVideo, and their “Beauty” series is on hiatus, Mode has gone and done a new installment, this time focusing on the standards of beauty aimed at our hands.

Note how much longer the nails slowly get starting from WWII and slowly inching up through the 1980s. The jump from the 80s to the 90s is pretty startling, but not as big as the jump from 2006 to 2016, where we go from the closest thing to a natural look since 1916 to something almost as garish and ostentatious as the 1980s. Interesting…

Also? “The “classic red nail” was really just a 1950s fad. Good to know!
