Game of Thrones Casts Roslin Frey

As much as I wonder exactly how Robb’s change in wife from the milksop Jeyne Westerling to the far more intelligent Talisa–a character almost too strong and to intelligent to ever marry Robb Stark.

There were suggestions that changing this character might be the butterfly wings that change larger things down the line. But I couldn’t believe it would really change the BIG things. As they say in Doctor Who, certain events are “fixed points.” There are four events in Storm of Swords I would characterize as being “fixed points,” and changing wives around should not–and cannot–effect the ultimate outcomes from them.

Game of Thrones: Mance Ryder Cast!

Ciarán Hinds!

From EW, who had the exclusive:

The Rome actor has been cast as Wildling leader Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall. Rayder has united the disparate clans of the Far North behind a single mission: To attack The Wall. He’s been frequently referenced (though unseen) in the HBO hit fantasy drama’s first two seasons. In the second season finale, undercover Night’s Watchman Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was being taken to meet Rayder.

If you’re a HBO fan, you’ll remember Hinds as Gaius Julius Caeser in Rome. If you’re a regular fantasy fan, you’ll remember him as Aberforth Dumbledore, the crotchy brother of the Head of Hogwarts.

As for my opinion–yes this is a face of a man who I believe accidentally became a leader, and really just wants to play his pipes.

I asked what other kinds of roles he was interested in, and Game of Thrones came up in the conversation.
